Tapping into your Inner Zen for 2024

Did you know that it can be a real benefit to you if you can find your inner zen state. By making time for yourself to self-reflect, look inwards and lovingly hold a space for yourself mind, body and soul you nurture your own inner safe space/zen state. Which in turn help create an internal sense of balance and equilibrium.

Where do you start to nurture your own inner zen. Being intentional about carving out time to reset and recharge your mind, body and soul can nurture this and create positive shifts in your life. Proactively choosing to hold a space for yourself, let go of people pleasing, and self-sacrificing and instead value your time and your energy resources is the first step in this process. This will give you the space and opportunity you need to more strongly begin to connect with your own inner zen.

Begin by carving out time for yourself to slow down, be still, look inwards and be there for you. In this space regularly ask yourself the question “what do I need today”. Listen to what comes up for you, and make self supporting choices for yourself based on that. This is the first step to tuning into your inner zen state.

Through a regular practice of “my down-time” you will nurture a stronger connection with your inner zen state. Then you can tap into that state regularly as a natural reset and recharge for yourself. Work to make this practice a regular part of your weekly routine. Doing something on a daily basis to make space for yourself will deepen that connection to your inner zen state until it becomes and effortless state for you to tap into. You begin to tap into your inner Zen by proactively making that commitment to yourself. You deepen that connection by getting comfortable with being fully open and honest with yourself, by engaging in those practices mental and physical that acknowledge and nurture you, by being willing to explore your intuitive and soul self, by choosing to live from a place of love and compassion, while believing that your actions matter and that they have a positive ripple effect for you and the world you live in.

Choose You

Give yourself time and space. Making time and space to tap into your inner zen is crucial. Make yourself your priority, make time and space for yourself, its important to hold yourself accountable for this. Put some time in your calendar, be specific about what you are choosing to do and then commit to making time to do those things. Stay connected to why you are choosing these activities. Giving yourself self supporting habits that you can commit to and actively accomplish on a daily and weekly basis is key. Tapping into your inner zen does need time and space. To nurture your own deeper inner connection and nurture your zen energy choose rituals and routines that nurture that.

Rituals and Routines that promote stillness, that allow you to switch of from day to day life, that allow you to tend to your brain, clear your thoughts and get out of negative thinking states are key.  Begin to consider how you can develop regular go to routines that give you time and space to reflect on your thoughts, emotions and experiences. Some key activities that help nurture that state are the regular practice of Meditation, Yoga, Tai Chi and any other activities that nurture a slow and steady presence for your mind, body and soul. This includes creating time for intentional introspection. Also journaling is a powerful ritual or practice that supports that, it provides an opportunity to reflect and explore your inner thoughts, to choose what to let go of, what to rephrase and what to discard, journaling offers an opportunity for decluttering and finding mental clarity.

Openness and Honesty

Another important aspect to the process of connecting more fully with your inner zen is being able to be completely honest with yourself. Consider yourself for a moment, what can you honestly say is going well for your currently and what aspects of your life need addressing or improving. Can you actively pause and reflect on that person you present to the world on a daily basis. Challenge yourself to be fully honest with yourself. How real and authentic are you on a daily basis? What if you let go of that need to be that person you think you need to be and instead begin to be fully and authentically yourself. Think for a moment about how liberating that would be and what difference would that make to your life. Think for a moment what is one thing you could do differently over the next few weeks that is truly aligned to that authentic you.

Your Intuition and Soul

When I talk about our inner zen state it also involves an aspect of Intuition and Soul. What I mean by this is how you connect with and draw on your own intuitive sense of things, and how you feed your soul through the choices you make for yourself daily. Its about heightening your level of awareness of the universal energies that exist all around us and how you actively connect with your heart and soul wishes. And how using these connections can deepen your inner sense of self and energize you in an empowering and positive way.

Begin to find ways to more proactively be present with your intuitive sense of things and with your soul self. Do you listen to those gut feelings you get, do you know what feeds your soul, do you know what speaks to your heart, what are the things you love to do and that fill you up? How present are you with those flashes of ideas or thoughts of what do to next. Learning to really lean into those ideas and gentle thoughts deepens your intuition. If you are curious about nurturing a deeper connection to your intuition and soul connection learn to develop some spiritual practices, do some guided meditations to connect with your intuition, find an oracle card deck that resonates for you personally and pull an oracle card on a regular basis, start to be more mindful of the energy in your home and office, clear the energy in your house and workplace regularly, ground yourself in your own cleansing and releasing rituals. Try not to carry around old emotions and stories that may be weighing you down.  A key element of being able to connect more easily to our intuition and soul is to regular have an emotional, mental and physical decluttering and clearing out. A regular decluttering practices makes space for new energy and higher vibrations to come into our lives which in turn and elevate us emotionally and intuitively.

Love and Compassion

There are different states that help deepen our connection to our own inner zen state. Key states that support this deeper connection are love and compassion. At the center of everything is love. So can you hold love in your heart every day. Love for yourself, love for the life you are living and experiencing, love for others and love for the natural world. Are you carrying around any old resentments, old emotions or old perspectives that are getting in the way of you living fully from a place of love and compassion. If we live from a place of love that in itself creates positive ripple effects out in the world. If we can offer ourselves more self supporting compassion our stress levels reduce, our wellbeing increases and we are more present for ourselves.

I am a firm believer in the concept that many tiny little acts contribute to a giant shift. So have faith in your capacity to change the world one positive act at a time. Believe in the ripple effects of your daily positive state and positive actions. Know how important those are for the world as a whole. By being able to be in a place of self love and self compassion this over times radiates out to the people and places around you. So don’t dismiss the importance of these states and the positive impact they can have for you.

Believe and Trust

Which brings me to my next and final aspect of tapping into your inner Zen. Try to be less cynical and less skeptical. Try to judge things less or pull things apart or dismiss things. Have faith, belief, and trust that everything is happening at the right time, in the right way for valid reasons. And work to find ways that you can continue to put love and positivity out in the world despite all those difficult things that are happening in the world right now.

It all Matters

Believe that you are an important and significant contributor to the positive ripple effects that the world needs right now. We are all in this together, trust in the greater good, and feed your connection to your inner zen state every day to support and empower yourself and radiate out those positive ripple effects that the world needs right now.
